I had the luck of being exposed to Gus’ work early on. I knew right away from seeing his skills, that I would want him to capture our portraits/ family photos, and eventually our wedding day. As people who are fairly camera awkward and shy, Gus had a way of guiding and loosening us up. So much so, that the process of taking photos ended up becoming memorable in itself. His way of getting you engaged in the moment, in the end translates to such beautiful photographs.
What I love most about Gus’ work is that he is able to translate moods through his photos. He takes the time to interview and collaborate with you, so that the end results fit the vibe that you are looking for. Because of this, our family photos give off a warm feeling while my wedding photos give off a bright, colorful and fun vibe (which is very exemplary of the event) full of many detail oriented and candid shots.
I had a fairly large wedding, outdoors and noisy. In such an environment, Gus was still able to exude such leadership that our other vendors (videographers, event planners, decorators) were following his lead to create a smooth flow of tasks. He provided great organization and guidance that our wedding venue, Fortino Winery, recognized his talents and designated Gus Vasquez Photography as a preferred vendor.
